Big weekend coming for CMA

Next weekend, December 4 and 5, will be a busy one for the Claremont Museum of Art.

Beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, CMA members will have an opportunity to preview the museum’s latest exhibit, “John Frame: Mephistopheles and the Swan Girl.” The work is “based on the artist’s production designs for the 2018 staging of Gounod’s Faust by The Lyric Opera of Chicago,” according to the museum’s website. Following the hour-long member preview, the public will be able to view the CMA exhibit between 6 and 9 p.m. during the monthly Art Walk. CMA is located at the Claremont Depot, located at 200 West First Street.

From 5 to 9 p.m. during both events, CMA will host a holiday book sale where residents can stop, shop and peruse gently used books. Artwork by Susan Hertel, Karl Benjamin, Milford Zornes and others will also be available to purchase.

On Sunday, December 5, CMA will host Free Family Day beginning at 12 p.m., featuring free admission for families until 4 p.m.
