CPUC Public Hearing on Golden State Water Rate Increase
January 31, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 11:59 pm
The California Public Utilities Commission is holding two public hearings in Claremont regarding Golden State Water’s request to increase rates. The hearings will be on Wednesday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Taylor Hall (1775 N. Indian Hill Boulevard). A CPUC Administrative Law Judge will be presiding at the hearings to listen to concerns, comments, and opinions on the increase.
Golden State Water Company filed an application with the California Public Utilities Commission requesting to increase their rates over a three-year period for service in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Golden State Water is regulated by the State of California to ensure rates reflect the full cost to provide water service, maintain the infrastructure, and make system improvements. Every three years, Golden State is required to file a General Rate Case (GRC) with the state to propose a rate structure.
