Area Easter egg hunts abound this weekend

Five spring celebrations will take place in cities neighboring Claremont on Saturday, April 1.

  • The City of La Verne will hold its first annual “eggcellent adventure” event at Heritage Park, 5001 Via de Mansion, La Verne, from 9 a.m. to noon. The free and open to the public event includes a 9 a.m. egg hunt, a visit from the Easter Bunny, arts, crafts, raffles, artistic booths, food vendors, music, and a petting zoo for a nominal fee.   • The City of Pomona will hold four concurrent 10 a.m. egg hunts at Pomona parks: Jaycee Park, 2000 N. San Antonio Ave.; John F. Kennedy Park, 1150 Fairplex Dr.; Ralph Welch Park, 1000 S. Buena Vista St.; and Washington Park, 865 E. Grand Ave. About 12,000 eggs will be hidden to participants ages 11 and under. Each hunt will include a special golden egg that will entitle the finder to a special prize basket. Free games, crafts, music, and a visit from the Easter Bunny will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.   • The City of Rancho Cucamonga’s “egg shellebration” takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Epicenter Entertainment and Adult Sports Complex, 8408 Rochester Ave., Rancho Cucamonga. The event includes a free fun zone, crafting activities, and games. Egg seeking begins at 11 a.m. for special needs children, followed by more hunts every 30 minutes for various age groups. Admission is $10 for children ages 2 to 12. Register at cityofrc.us.

 

  • Easter egg hunts for children ages 2 to 10 will take place in San Dimas at 10 a.m. at Civic Center Park, 245 E. Bonita Ave.,and Via Verde Park, 1010 Puente St. One parent is permitted to hunt with their children 3 and under. Attendees can also take photos with the Easter Bunny.   • The City of Upland and Upland Foothill Kiwanis Club begins its “spring egg hunt” at 10 a.m. at Upland Memorial Park, 1100 E. Foothill Blvd., with the 2-year-old and under hunt, followed in 20-minute intervals by the 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 9 to 12 age groups. The event includes craft and game booths, a kids’ zone, and photos with Mr. Bunny. Questions? Call (909) 981-4501.
