Stump, Fagg named grand marshals of Fourth of July events
Longtime Claremont super-volunteers Sonja Stump and Bob Fagg will be grand marshals of Claremont’s Fourth of July celebration.
Claremont City Council made the announcement last week. Tom Shelley will be the honored citizen, and AgingNext — which turns 50 in May — has been selected as the honored community group.
Fifth grader to sing national anthem on Fourth of July
Sycamore Elementary School fifth grader Laurel Kiel-Coslett will sing the national anthem at Claremont’s Fourth of July celebration, both during the honoree recognition ceremony and at the fireworks show. Laurel also received fireworks tickets and will ride in the parade.

Fourth of July booth apps due May 15
Claremont nonprofit organizations have until May 15 to apply to host a festival booth at the city’s annual 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fourth of July celebration at Memorial Park. Booth fees range from $25 to $100.
