On tap for 2025 at Claremont Lewis Museum of Art

Claremont Lewis Museum of Art, 200 W. First St., will mount four exhibitions and a pop-up show in 2025.
On view through March 23 are “Home in Aztlán: The Garcia Collection of Chicanx Art” and its companion exhibition, “One of Your Girls or Your Homies: Tan Jazz Mont.” The exhibits feature Chicanx art from the collection of Cathy and Frank Garcia and a collection of recent work by Tan Jazz Mont.
“Sound Formations: Artist, Musician, Instrument Maker,” an installation of handcrafted musical instruments by Henry Barnes, Richard Barnes, Otto D’Ambrosio, Kris Erickson, Pete Escovedo, Steve Goode, Mike Kotzen, Martin Maudal, Jom Rivers, Victoria Rosas, Warren Shingleton, and Dave Tourje, will open April 5 and close July 13.
The museum’s annual “Free 4 All,” one-day pop-up show for local artists runs from 4 to 9 p.m. July 19.
“Complications in Color” will be up August 2-November 16. The exhibit spotlights work by Terry O’Shea, Rachel Lachowicz, Florence Arnold, Karl Benjamin, and June Harwood.
“She Opens the Door: Women Artists and Writers Shape Language and Space,” a group show that explores “female agency at the intersection of language and art,” will be up December 6 through March 22, 2026.
The museum is open noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, free for CLMA members, students, a minors. More information is at clmoa.org.
