Police lift shelter in place order at CMC, no shooter or weapon found

Police have lifted the shelter in place order at Claremont McKenna College after searching the area and finding no evidence of a shooter or weapon. There were no injuries, and no arrests were made.
The shelter in place order was lifted at 7:30 p.m.
Police from multiple agencies descended on Claremont McKenna shortly after receiving a 4:42 p.m. call about a man carrying an assault rifle on the 888 N. Columbia Ave. campus. Police from Claremont, Upland, and La Verne blocked streets around CMC for nearly three hours.
