Where am I?

Courier photo/Tom Smith

Congratulations to David Sawhill, one of 18 readers who correctly identified last week’s “Where am I?” as Burt W. Johnson’s 1915 statue, “Spanish Music,” in Pomona College’s Lebus Courtyard. Johnson designed and cast the bronze statue while studying at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. It was influenced in part by the work of 15th century Florentine sculptor Desiderio da Settignano. David is now entered into the year-end drawing for a one-year subscription to everyone’s favorite award-winning local newspaper, the Claremont Courier. So, “Where am I” this week? Email your answer, full name, and city of residence — and suggestions for future mystery photos — to contest@claremont-courier.com for your chance to win. Courier photo/Tom Smith
