Monday, January 13
The Claremont Police Department received several calls around 4:15 p.m. regarding a woman who was refusing to leave a business in the 400 block of Auto Center Drive. Arriving officers arrested the 26-year-old unhoused woman for misdemeanor trespassing. She was booked at CPD and released with a citation.
Sunday, January 19
Police responded to Base Line and Live Oak Canyon roads at 12:39 p.m. on reports of two people in the wash. Arriving officers spoke with one, a 54-year-old unhoused man, and a records check showed a misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrant. He was arrested, booked at CPD, and released with a citation.
Thursday, January 23
Police say they saw Steve Vergara, 41, of Colton, sleeping in his car at Chevron/McDonald’s, 860 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 12:02 a.m. A records check revealed a misdemeanor Los Angeles County warrant, and he was arrested, booked at CPD, jailed, and later released with a citation.
Friday, January 24
Police responded to calls about a man acting erratically in the 1600 block of Albany Court at 11:29 a.m. Officers questioned Gordon McCollom of Hemet, 42, who they say showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested on the misdemeanor charge, booked at CPD and jailed, where he detoxified and later left with a citation to appear in court.
Saturday, January 25
Police responded to Base Line Road and Monte Vista Avenue at 4:51 a.m. regarding a traffic collision. Officers spoke with one of the drivers, Cortney Akridge, a 31-year-old Anaheim man, and a records check showed he did not have a license. After field sobriety tests Akridge was arrested for two misdemeanors, DUI and driving without a license. He was transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
Sunday, January 26
Claremont Colleges Campus Safety called for CPD assistance at 5:20 a.m. after viewing surveillance footage that allegedly showed two men stealing a bike in the 1100 block of N. Mills Avenue. Police searched the area and found two unhoused men, 30 and 40, whom they suspected as being the people seen in the video. They were arrested for misdemeanor theft, booked at CPD, and released with citations. The stolen bike was recovered and later returned to its owner.
