Tuesday, October 1
The Claremont Police Department was called to Vista Valle Townhomes, 670 W. San Jose Ave. at 5:47 p.m. following reports of a 38-year-old unhoused woman near the complex’s pool. Arriving officers spoke to the woman and a records check revealed she had a misdemeanor warrant in Pomona. The woman was arrested for the warrant, transported to CPD jail, booked, and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Thursday, October 3
CPD received a 3 a.m. call from the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department saying they had arrested 25-year-old Montclair resident Alyssa Gamboa who had a felony warrant in Claremont for robbery. Officers traveled to 340 Palos Verdes Drive West, Palos Verdes Estates, to pick up Gamboa and transported her back to the CPD jail, where she was booked and held for a Pomona Superior Court appearance, after which she was released.
Friday, October 4
At 12:23 a.m., an officer pulled over Jonathan McEachren-Rubio, 31, of Glendora, near the intersection of West Bonita and North Mountain avenues for vehicle code violations and said he displayed symptoms of impairment. After field sobriety tests, McEachren-Rubio was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. During his arrest, police searched him and allegedly found cocaine in his sock, which added misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance to his list of charges. He was booked at CPD, provided a chemical sample, held for detox, and was later released with a citation.
Outside Denny’s, 820 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 2:30 a.m. police attempted to speak with a 34-year-old unhoused man but he refused and rode away on his bike. Officers said they then observed the man commit a vehicle code violation and stopped him nearby. A records check showed the man had a misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested, taken to CPD jail to be booked and later released with a citation.
Saturday, October 5
Officers were called to the Metrolink parking lot, 200 W. First St., at 2:53 a.m. following reports that a light pole had been tampered with. When they arrived, police questioned a 54-year-old unhoused man who allegedly admitted to altering the pole’s wiring for his personal use, leading to his arrest for misdemeanor vandalism. The man was booked at CPD and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
After a 5:34 p.m. call regarding a suspicious car, police made their way to All American Mini Storage, 711 S. Mills Ave. They questioned two people and one man allegedly gave police a fake name, birth date and license number because he believed he had a parole violation. After the 59-year-old unhoused man finally told officers who he really was, he was arrested for giving a false ID to a peace officer, a misdemeanor. He was booked at CPD and later released with a citation. The other person was released at the scene.
CPD pulled over La Verne resident Alicia Lou-Diaz, 56, near the intersection of Claremont and Foothill boulevards due to vehicle code violations at 10:57 p.m. Police say she displayed symptoms of impairment and arrested her for misdemeanor DUI following field sobriety tests. Lou-Diaz was taken to CPD where she was booked, provided a chemical sample, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
Monday, October 7
The Pomona Police Department called CPD at 10:52 p.m. to inform them of a 34-year-old unhoused man in their custody for whom a records check showed a felony warrant issued by CPD. Police drove to 490 W. Mission Blvd., Pomona, to pick up and transport the man back to CPD to be booked and held him for court. He was taken to the North County Correctional Facility in Castaic on Wednesday and is due at Pomona Superior Court on November 21.
