Boys soccer loses in CIF quarterfinal match

Claremont High School senior forward Emilio Rivas sits midfield on Friday following the Pack’s 3-1 loss to Riverside Polytechnic High School in the quarterfinal round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 4 boys’ soccer championship. In spite of the disappointing loss, Claremont still had a very strong season placing second in Palomares League with a 7-2-1 record, 13-6-4 overall. They say lightning never strikes twice in the same place, however it did for CHS boys who fell to the Bears last season, 1-3, in the Division 4 wildcard game in Riverside.
