Pack runs over Colony in 29-1 mercy rule victory

In an epic slugfest, Claremont girls varsity softball got a 29-1 mercy rule victory over Colony on Monday in Claremont.

The stats read like batting practice, with nine Claremont batters getting hits, including five doubles and a home run by Lauren Del Campo. They combined for a total of 22 hits with a team batting average of .537.

Alexis Jimenez tops the list of total offense with four hits, four runs and four RBIs. Madyson Clark had three hits including one double, four runs and two RBIs. Sydney Diaz, Isabella Rivera and Lauryn Olguin each had three hits, two runs, and they combined for eight RBIs. The other hits came from Hanna Hashioka, two hits, four runs and one RBI; Jennifer Gaunt 2-2-2; and Mikaela Huizar, 1-2-0.

Katlin Entrup got the win, pitching four innings, giving up one hit and one run while striking out four.

The victory lifts the Pack’s Palomares League record to 3-5 with seven games remaining.
