Police Blotter: July 5, 2024

Wednesday, June 26

Claremont Police Department officers responded to the 1500 block of Mural Drive at 7:27 p.m. after receiving multiple calls about car in the middle of the street. They located the vehicle’s owner, Walter Folgar, 40, of Montclair, a short distance away. Police say Folgar was acting erratically and displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search allegedly yielded methamphetamine, and he was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was booked at the CPD and released with citations to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

 

Thursday, June 27

Police responded to a 4 p.m. call at Chevron gas station, 267 S. Indian Hill Blvd., after reports of someone punching an employee. Arriving officers questioned Claremont resident Tye Perea, 19. He was then identified by the victim, arrested for misdemeanor battery, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

 

Friday, June 28

At 8:37 p.m., police got a call regarding a motorist driving under the influence. Officers matched the reported license plate of the vehicle with the driver, 33-year-old Luis Lazoluna of San Antonio, Texas. After allegedly witnessing him commit a moving violation, they pulled him over near Arrow Highway and Cambridge Avenue. Police say Lazoluna displayed symptoms of being under the influence. After field sobriety tests, he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and taken to CPD for booking and to provide a chemical sample. The chemical sample also allegedly registered a narcotic in his system, and an additional misdemeanor DUI charge was issued. After detoxification, Lazoluna was released with two citations to appear in court.

 

Saturday, June 29

Police made their way to the Metrolink parking lot, 201 W. First St., at 2:45 a.m. after getting a call about a suspicious car. There they questioned and ran a records check on its occupant, Pomonan Nick Diaz, 55, which revealed a misdemeanor warrant. The man was arrested for the warrant, booked at CPD, then released with a citation.

Sunday, June 30

CPD responded to a 2:17 p.m. call regarding a man with his pants down causing a disturbance outside Round Table Pizza, 750 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Arriving officers questioned Rancho Cucamonga resident Gregory Daniels, 36, and ran a records check, which revealed a misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrant. He was arrested, booked at CPD, and released with a citation.

 

Monday, July 1

At 3 a.m., police pulled over Dallas Parker, a 30-year-old from La Habra, near the intersection of Baughman Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard for an equipment violation. A records check revealed a San Bernardino County misdemeanor warrant. He was subsequently arrested, booked at the Claremont jail, and issued a citation to appear in court.
