City names longtime employees to key management positions
The city of Claremont announced recently that two longtime employees, Jamie Earl and Melissa Vollaro, who have been filling in as interims for the last few months, will both be offered permanent positions.
Ms. Earl will be the city’s next assistant city manager, a role she has been performing on a temporary basis for five months since the departure of Chris Paulson in November. Ms. Earl has been with the city for 10 years, the last five years in the city manager’s office, where she has been responsible for providing support to city staff and completion of special projects.
“Over the last five months she has done an amazing job of managing the operations of the administrative services department and continuing to work on those special projects in the city mangers office,” City Manager Adam Pirrie said.
Ms. Vollaro has been named human services director, a role she has been performing since November of last year. She has been a city employee for over 20 years and played a key role in the implementation of most of the programs currently offered by the human services department.
“She has a wealth of experience and a talent for connecting with the community that she serves, and this makes Melissa an ideal selection for this appointment,” Mr. Pirrie said.
The COURIER congratulates both Ms. Earl and Ms. Vollaro in their new roles.
