Beloved son, father, grandfather and friend

Louis Wichhart, 83 years young, died June 30 in Claremont.

Beloved son of Alverda Wichhart, Louis grew up in Fairfield, Iowa. After moving to Pasadena, California, “Lou” worked in civil engineering for the major firms Jacobs, Braun, Parsons and Fluor Daniels.

In retirement he was an active volunteer and enjoyed playing pètanque at Larkin Park. He walked regularly with the Get Walking Claremont Group, and was active with the Mingle and Munch social group.

Mr. Wichhart leaves behind many friends who will miss his company and friendship.

He is survived by his two daughters, Melanie (Lutz) and Cynthia (Catron); grandson Oliver Catron; granddaughters Lauren Gebhardt (Lutz), Michelle Lutz and Delilah “Rosie” Catron; and great grandson Jax Gebhardt.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no in-person gathering has been planned at this time.

“Please celebrate Lou and remember to raise your glass to a life that will be missed by all,” his family shared.
