A reader alerted the COURIER with rather tall tale that a Village area stop sign had sprouted a bouquet of flowers. Located on the southeast corner of Yale Avenue and Eighth Street, the sign does indeed sport an entire bush of cascading white blooms. The odd phenomenon occurred after a lantana growing around the base sent a stalk up the sign’s hollow center until it reached the sunlight above. COURIER photo Steven Felschundneff
