Claremont police arrest duo for rash of auto burglaries
There were 12 vehicle burglaries this week through smashed windows, according to the Claremont Police Department. The majority occurred at the apartment complexes on Bonita Avenue and Brighton Park Apartments on Foothill and Claremont Boulevard. Surveillance video of the suspects and suspect vehicle were obtained during the investigation.
On Tuesday at approximately 3:54 a.m., a Claremont police officer located the vehicle seen in surveillance video driving near San Jose Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard.
The two people in the car were determined to be the suspects in the auto burglaries—they had burglary tools along with broken pieces of glass on the floorboard of the car.
A 32 year-old male and a 38 year-old female, both from Riverside, were arrested for burglary. No further details on their identities were provided by police.
