Tuesday, January 28
A driver backed into another car at the Vons shopping center just before 7 p.m., leaving the scene without leaving any information, Lt. Jason Walters of the Claremont Police Department said. There is no suspect information.
Wednesday, January 29
An unknown thief broke into a car in the Pomona College parking structure on First Street between noon and 2:30 p.m., leaving with only two containers of antifreeze worth about $30. No suspect information was available.
Thursday, January 30
An Upland man was arrested after he allegedly punched a Campus Safety officer and tried to run from police. Claremont police were called around 10:20 p.m. after 24-year-old Archondrick Kay clocked the officer during a contact, Lt. Walters said. Mr. Kay ran from police, but was eventually caught and taken into custody near a building on Claremont Boulevard just south of Sixth Street. He was arrested on suspicion of battery on an officer and resisting arrest.

Around $900 worth of goods was stolen from a Mercedes parked on the 500 block of south College Avenue. Between 9 p.m. on January 30 and 10:30 a.m. on January 31, the thief shattered the right rear window, taking sunglasses, gift cards and a pair of gloves. Police are investigating.
Friday, January 31
Meanwhile, two men were arrested hours after they allegedly stole items from a car in the Claremont Club parking lot. Around 9 a.m., duffel bags containing clothing, an iPad, an iPhone and headphones were stolen from an unlocked car in the parking lot. Police got a lead from the scene, and tracked the suspects to a home on the 4600 block of Kingsley Avenue in Montclair. Arrested were 25-year-old Juan Arteaga of San Bernardino and 29-year-old Adam Fonseca of Montclair on suspicion of grand theft and possession of stolen property.

Two Perris residents were arrested after they apparently tried to check into the DoubleTree Hotel using someone else’s information. Around 8 p.m., 49-year-old Norman Harris and 49-year-old Brandi Harris tried to check in using fraudulently obtained information. The victim, who lives out of state, was contacted and said he never authorized the Harrises to use his information and did not know them. They were both arrested on suspicion of identity theft and taken to CPD jail, where they were later released with a citation after booking.
Sunday, February 2
Three teenagers, including one juvenile, were arrested after they allegedly broke into cars on the 100 block of El Camino Way. A witness called police and said they witnessed people trying to gain entry into nearby cars. Around 1 a.m., police found the three suspects—19-year-old Aaron Castro of Pomona, 18-year-old Daisy Osuna of Pomona and a 16-year-old boy—in the area of Indian Hill Boulevard and Santa Fe Street. They were in possession of stolen property belonging to multiple victims in the area totaling $400, Lt. Walters said. They were arrested and taken to CPD jail, where the boy was released to a parent and the other two were released with a citation to appear.

A La Verne woman was arrested after police caught her behind the wheel of a stolen Toyota van. Officers ran the van’s plate near the intersection of Hendricks and Geneva around 10:30 a.m. and pulled over the driver, 36-year-old Mary Sanchez, who was allegedly in possession of meth and cocaine and also had a warrant. She was arrested for stealing the car, possession of drugs and the warrant, and was taken to CPD jail.
