Obituary: Carol Ann Lee Bovett
Longtime Claremont resident, great grandmother, tireless volunteer
A Claremont resident for 54 years, Carol Ann Lee Bovett died on December 25, 2019, in Keizer, Oregon.
She was born at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles on February 9, 1936. The last of nine children, she was raised in Los Angeles.
She married Duane Bovett on May 14, 1955. They were married 54 years before Mr. Bovett’s death in 2009.
After retiring in 1995 from employment at Claremont McKenna College, she volunteered as a “snuggler” in the Pediatric Acute Care Unit at Loma Linda University’s Children’s Hospital. She also volunteered as an adult literacy tutor at the Upland Public Library, and as a polling place worker in Claremont.
Survivors include her daughter, Teri Peterson and her husband Paul of Bend, Oregon; son, David Bovett and his wife Julie, of Clements, California; son, Rob Bovett and his wife Carol, of Salem, Oregon; grandsons Chris Peterson, Sean Bovett and Aaron Bovett; and great granddaughter Sophia Rose Bovett.
Memorial services will be held Forest Lawn Covina Hills in the spring of 2020.
