CHS football needs new jerseys, and you can help
The Claremont High School football program is currently running an online fundraiser to replace the team’s aging jerseys.
They have contracted with the company eTeamSponsor to run the campaign which continues through May 19. As of Wednesday afternoon, the campaign has received $8,245 in donations, which is 27 percent of the $30,000 goal. The company will forward a tax ID number for donors to use on their taxes for charitable donation purposes.
“Our current jerseys are about nine years old and pretty beat up. I have quotes and the average price for us getting new jerseys is $30,000. If we could get support from the community, that would be extremely helpful,” Coach Shane Hile said.
In addition to the sizable goal of purchasing new jerseys, the team must also pay for annual expenses including safety equipment, pre-game meals and transportation. Coach Hile said that they will hold additional fund raising efforts such as car washes and merchandise sales to meet all of the team’s needs.
