Obituary: Kathleen Glidden
Florist, confectioner, great-grandmother, beloved wife
Kathleen Glidden died peacefully March 10 in Clarkston, Washington. She was 81.
She was born in Highbridge, Wisconsin on February 2, 1938. She went to high school in Kamiah, Idaho, where she met her loving husband of 62 years, Sam Glidden. They were high-school sweethearts, and were married in Kamiah.
The couple owned Casa Flores flower shop in Claremont, and raised their children there before moving to Lewiston, Idaho, where she opened her own candy shop, The Goodie Garden.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Sam; her daughters, Bridget and Heather, and sons, Tom and Donald; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren (aged 18 months to 16 years); her sister, Judy Lyda; and nieces Donna and Beverly.
“She was bright, had a kind heart, and showered her loved ones with gifts,” her family remembered.
A celebration of her life took place March 14 in Clarkston, Washington.
