Trail of blood leads police to burglary suspect
Claremont police arrested a Pomona man for burglary after reportedly following a trail of his blood.
Officers responded to Stix Ride Shop at 175 north Indian Hill Boulevard at 3:50 a.m. Saturday morning and discovered the front window had been shattered, according to Sgt. Hector Tamayo of the Claremont Police Department.
Officers also found a trail of blood leading away from the burglarized business. They followed the trail and found the suspect, 18-year-old Bryan Garcia of Pomona, allegedly wearing a Stix beanie with the price tag hanging off it, Sgt. Tamayo said. Officers determined that Mr. Garcia also allegedly took a skateboard, two shirts and a baseball hat.
Mr. Garcia was arrested without incident, police said. He was placed under arrest on suspicion of commercial burglary and possession of stolen property, and booked at the Claremont Police Department jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
He is expected to be appear at Pomona Superior Court on Tuesday, February 26.
