Assistant City Manager Colin Tudor is leaving his post with the city of Claremont.

City Manager Tara Schultz made the announcement near the beginning of Tuesday night’s city council meeting. Mr. Tudor will be leaving the city to take a position as secretary to the Claremont Colleges’ board and assistant vice president of community engagement for the Claremont Colleges Services, she said.

“While we’re sad to see him leave the city, we are happy that he will remain in town and be active in our Claremont community,” Ms. Schultz said.

Mr. Tudor has worked with the city since 1996, where he was first hired as a roller hockey referee. Since then, he’s worked in the human services department, as a management analyst with the city manager’s office, assistant to the city manager and, finally, assistant city manager in 2012.

He’s worked as a regional representative for the Gold Line, with Ms. Schultz calling him the “Gold Line guru.” He has also worked with two ad hoc police station committees, the future financial opportunities committee and helped develop city budgets.

Mr. Tudor said he was thankful for the opportunity to “work with great city councils, great city staff and our incredible community.”

“I’m fortunate to continue to work in this community, just in a different capacity,” he said.
