A very hot weekend in Claremont took a crazy turn toward the dramatic as a quick thunderstorm blew through the area Saturday afternoon. The quick moving system also brought lightening that struck the middle of a large palm tree near Indian Hill Boulevard and 8th Street. Although the strike damaged the tree, there was no other harm to nearby structures. Temperatures are stuck in the mid-90s for the remainder of this week, with only a slight chance of a passing thunderstorm. Photo/K.M. Williamson
