Police and the FBI are looking for a serial bank robber who hit a Claremont Chase bank on June 14.

The “Faux Badge Bandit,” as the FBI is calling him, is responsible for several bank robberies all across the southland, from La Verne to Pasadena to Santa Clarita, according to FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller.

The robber gained his title due to witness descriptions of him wearing a seven-point badge on his hip, along with a shoulder holster.

On Thursday June 14 at around 4:24 p.m., the robber entered the bank, located at 805 west Foothill Boulevard, displayed two handguns to an employee and demanded money, according to Sgt. Robert Ewing of the Claremont Police Department.

The employee gave the robber around $1,000, and the suspect fled the bank out of the west doors toward the parking lot, police said. No getaway vehicle was seen.

Authorities believe his first robbery occurred on May 31 at a Wells Fargo in La Verne. From there, he allegedly hit a U.S. Bank in Pasadena and the Claremont bank on June 14, and a Wells Fargo in Santa Clarita on June 15.

He is described as a Caucasian man between 40 and 50 years old. He is believed to be six feet tall, around 230 pounds, cleanly shaven with blue eyes. He was wearing a tan hat, blue-colored blazer jacket, white collared shirt and dark blue jeans when he robbed the Claremont Chase bank.
