Wednesday, May 30

A Hemet man was arrested for public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia after causing a disturbance at Chevron/McDonalds. Quincy Brown, 39, was allegedly yelling at customers when police were called around 2 p.m., Lt. Walters said. Officers determined that Mr. Brown was too drunk to remain in public, and he also had a meth pipe on him.

Thursday, May 31

Police are looking for two men who burglarized Bardot restaurant around 4:30 a.m. Surveillance footage from the scene, which was not provided to the COURIER, showed one of the burglars shattering the front glass door, entering an office and leaving while the second burglar served as a lookout. There is no known property loss, police said in a release. The first suspect was described as a man around six feet to six feet, two inches tall with a thin build, a light-colored hoodie with the hood up and a partial face mask and dark-colored pants and shoes. The second suspect was described as a man with an average build, wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark-colored pants. A Pomona man was arrested for DUI after being caught speeding near Foothill Boulevard and Towne Avenue. Christian Rodriguez, 35, was found to be drunk  when police caught him driving around 1 a.m. He was arrested and alter released with a citation.

A transient was arrested for public intoxication at the Greyhound station. A witness called police around 3:30 p.m. regarding a man passed out behind the building. William Moore, 32, was arrested for public drunkenness and released without charges.

An unknown thief stole a woman’s wallet and cell phone at Vons. The victim was in the parking lot loading groceries into her car around 6:30 p.m. when the thief took the items from the shopping cart. The combined value of the wallet and iPhone was over $950. Lt. Walters confirmed that credit cards in the wallet were used at a number of locations in the region, and police are currently investigating.

Friday, June 1

A burglar helped himself to a free breakfast after breaking into a car and stealing two dozen eggs. The unknown thief shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s Nissan Altima between 1 p.m. on May 31 and 9:45 a.m. on June 1 on Arrow Highway. The value of the eggs was estimated at $10.

A Pomona woman was arrested for public intoxication after she was allegedly acting strangely in the Pomona Valley Health Center parking lot. Linda Baker, 50, was reportedly banging on cars in the parking lot of the center at 1601 Monte Vista Avenue around 1:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found she was too drunk to remain in the parking lot under her own accord, and she was arrested.

A student at the Claremont Colleges has been charged with battery on a peace officer stemming from an incident in April. Gabriel Fisher, 18, was apparently running around in front of the Marks Residence Hall on April 6 at around 5 p.m. “with no clothes on,” according to Lt. Walters. When campus safety arrived, Mr. Fisher allegedly struck one of them in the face. He was later cooperative with officers and reportedly apologized. Mr. Fisher’s arraignment has been set for July 9, according to the Los Angeles County Superior Court database.

Sunday, June 3

Three people were arrested, one for possessing a meth pipe, during a routine traffic stop on Base Line Road. An officer pulled over a car for having a broken license plate light around Base Line and Glen Way around 1:30 a.m. One of the occupants, 51-year-old David Joseph of Pomona, allegedly possessed the pipe, while two other occupants had warrants. All three were arrested without incident and transported to CPD jail.

Monday, June 4

Police are looking for a burglar who apparently helped himself to some food before getting away in the victim’s car. The unknown thief entered the unlocked home on the 200 block of west Arrow Highway around 2:40 a.m., ate the food and found spare keys to the victim’s car, which he used to get away. The resident was home at the time of the burglary. There is no further information available.
