Two arrested on suspicion of burglarizing Claremont cars

Two Highland residents were arrested Thursday on suspicion of two Claremont car burglaries.

Chelsey Fisk and Henry Rios, both 25 years old, were found in the area of Foothill Boulevard and Towne Center Drive just after a credit card that was stolen from one of the cars was used in La Verne, according to Lt. Mike Ciszek of the Claremont Police Department.

The first car burglary was reported at the Wilderness Park parking lot on Monday, August 7 at 6:20 a.m., Lt. Ciszek said. In that burglary, the victim’s wallet, credit cards and cash were stolen, and the cards were used in various locations in nearby cities.

A female suspect leaving the scene was identified, and her car was entered as a wanted vehicle with local law enforcement, Lt. Ciszek said.

A few days later, on Thursday, August 10, another car was broken into at La Puerta Sports Park around 9:10 a.m., Lt. Ciszek said. The victim’s purse, wallet, ID, credit cards and cash were taken from the car, and the credit cards were used to purchase merchandise in La Verne later that day.

With help from the La Verne Police Department, Claremont police found and stopped the wanted car. Ms. Fisk and Mr. Rios were arrested and the stolen property was recovered.

Ms. Fisk and Mr. Rios were both arrested and booked into Claremont jail, with bail set at $20,000, Lt. Ciszek said. Both are scheduled to appear in Pomona Superior Court on Monday, August 14.
