Claremont Heritage hosts Lainie Kazan at Memorial Park mixer
Claremont Heritage will host “Jazz and Art in the Park” from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Garner House in Memorial Park, 840 N Indian Hill Blvd. in Claremont.
The evening will include an opportunity to socialize with actor and singer Lainie Kazan (My Big, Fat Greek Wedding), live jazz from the band Castaways, appetizers and desserts by Adoro Catering and craft beer from Last Name Brewery. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. In addition, The Ginger Elliott Gallery will be open at 5:30 p.m. for a sale and exhibition of local art giants Millard Sheets and Milford Zornes, featuring James Strombotne and many more.
Ms. Kazan was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1988 for her work on the television drama St. Elsewhere, a Tony Award for best featured actress in a musical for My Favorite Year. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her work in 1982’s film version of My Favorite Year. Other film appearances include The Delta Force, Harry and the Hendersons, Beaches and the My Big, Fat Greek Wedding movies.
Reserved VIP tickets are $100 and include access from 6 to 6:45 p.m. to “Lainie’s Lounge,’ for socializing with Ms. Kazan, appetizers, beverages and bundt cake in the living room at Garner House, and first-tier assigned seating for the Castaways’ performance.
Preferred tickets are $75 and include second-tier concert seating and a meet and greet with Ms. Kazan. General admission tickets are $50 and include the meet and greet and first-come, first-served concert seating. All proceeds from the event will benefit Claremont Heritage’s education programs.
