Is winter finally over now?
The fast moving rain storm that blew through Claremont Sunday very well could be the last of the season. Not only are we due for a warm-up that will reach 80 degrees, there is no rain in the forecast for the rest of March. Things can always change, but we are in store for a long stretch of dry warm days. As winters go, this season brought a lot of rain, as just over nine inches just this winter. The average rainfall for Claremont is 15 inches yearly. The end of this storm brought us yet another fantastic sunset, seen here from the Base Line Road intersection at the 210 freeway. The good news is the hills north of Claremont are as green as they have been in years. The rest of this week will get warmer, with high temperatures in the 70s Tuesday, and near 82 the rest of the week. COURIER photo/Peter Weinberger
