LA County Library Director to speak at Active Claremont meeting
Skye Patrick, the Library Director for Los Angeles County, will be speaking at the Active Claremont meeting on Thursday, January 19.
Ms. Patrick will speak on her goals, objectives and initiatives for the library system in the Padua Room at the Alexander Hughes Community Center at 7 p.m., according to Councilmember Corey Calaycay, who is a member of the Los Angeles County Library Commission.
Ms. Patrick was sworn-in by the county in February 2016 to replace the outgoing librarian, Margaret Donnellan Todd. She is the first African-American woman in the county librarian post, according to the Los Angeles Sentinel.
“These folks don’t always go out this far, so it’s a great opportunity to meet with them and interact with them,” Mr. Calaycay said during the January 10 city council meeting.
The meeting is open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend.
