Wednesday, June 15

Allen Perez was arrested yet again on a public intoxication charge. The 42-year-old Pomona man was observed displaying signs of intoxication while walking on the north side of Second Street in front of city hall just after 2 p.m. Officers at the scene determined he was too drunk to remain on the streets, and he was arrested and transported to CPD jail to sober up. Mr. Perez has been arrest in Claremont 33 times for public intoxication-related offenses in the last four years.

A Claremont man was arrested after he allegedly bit and punched his roommate during a drunken fight. David Bauman, 30, was arrested after the victim drove to the police station to report the assault, according to Lt. Mike Ciszek. The fight reportedly took place around 3 a.m., when Mr. Bauman entered the victim’s room and began hitting and biting him on the back and shoulder. According to the victim, the roommates had a previous agreement that the victim’s ex-girlfriend wasn’t allowed at the house. When Mr. Bauman saw the ex’s car in the Vons parking lot nearby, he assumed she was at the house, which led to the assault. Turns out she wasn’t even there. Mr. Bauman also threatened to kill the victim if he went to the police. He was arrested for threatening a violent assault, assault with great bodily injury and battery. He was held for bail and must appear in court.

Thursday, June 16

Sixteen tickets to Los Angeles Angels games were among items stolen from a car parked near the corner of Carleton Avenue and San Jose Street. Between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., the unknown thief smashed the front passenger window of the victim’s Toyota Yaris and stole the tickets, as well as a boom box and the car’s registration. Friday, June 17

A Hesperia man was arrested after cops caught him drinking inside a Laundromat. Felipe Constancio, 48, was sitting and drinking inside the Launderland on the 1000 block of West Foothill Boulevard just after 5 p.m. When police arrived, they determined Mr. Constancio was drunk and arrested him for public intoxication. He was transported to CPD jail where he was held for detox and released.

Sunday, June 19

A 31-year-old woman was arrested after reportedly attacking her ex-boyfriend during a bad breakup. Jessica Gonzalez was arrested around 11 a.m. on the 200 block of Olive after her ex-boyfriend alleged she grabbed his arm and bit into his chest, leaving a red mark roughly the size of a golf ball, according to Lt. Ciszek. Ms. Gonzalez and the victim were arguing because the victim wanted to end their relationship, the report states. She was arrested for domestic assault and transported to jail.

Monday, June 20

Police arrested a Monterey Park man after he allegedly hit his girlfriend repeatedly in the Norm’s parking lot. A witness noticed 24-year-old Jose Sifuentes throwing a beer bottle at the victim at 3:40 a.m. The bottle hit the ground, but shards reportedly went into the victim’s face. Mr. Sifuentes then began hitting the victim with a grocery bag full of glass bottles and struck her at least four times with his hands, according to the witness. When police arrived, Mr. Sifuentes claimed he wasn’t trying to hit the victim when he threw the beer bottle. He was arrested for domestic battery and transported to CPD jail.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for hit and run and driving under the influence of drugs after trying to flee the scene of an accident at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and San Jose Street. A red Honda Civic, driven by Edgar Coronado-Flores of Pomona, slammed into the back of a car, which then hit another car stopped at the intersection. Mr. Coronado-Flores was allegedly under the influence of marijuana at the time of the crash. He then tried to book it from the scene of the accident, but was quickly apprehended by police. He was positively identified by one of the victims and witnesses, and he was transported to CPD jail. One of the victims complained of back and neck pain and was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment.

Tuesday, June 21

Police are looking for information on a couple of prowlers who were seen running away from the front yard of a home. Just after midnight, a homeowner on the 1700 block of Drew Place heard a noise and saw the two prowlers running away from his property, south on Drew Place and east on Hillsdale Drive. Officers checked the area, but found no cars were disturbed and no property was taken. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
