On Monday, March 2 the city had three residential burglaries in the span of nine hours.

The first burglary occurred on the 2400 block of Michigan Drive around 11:30 a.m. The 53-year-old victim was upstairs in her bedroom when she heard the sound of breaking glass coming from the rear of her home. She looked downstairs and saw an intruder standing in her dining room. The suspect saw the resident, ran outside, and fled in a silver Mercedes Benz with blue dealer paper plates with white or yellow writing. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, about six feet tall, wearing a blue dress shirt and carrying a small silver case. No property was stolen.

The second burglary occurred on the 200 block of E. Arrow Highway between 1:15 and 5:15 p.m. The unknown suspects entered the home through a smashed kitchen window, ransacked the residence and made off with $10,000 in property including Apple electronics, a diamond necklace, an engagement ring and various other jewelry items.

The third burglary occurred on the 900 block of Saint Catherine Way around 8:20 p.m. The victim was home asleep when thieves broke a rear glass door to enter the residence. The homeowner woke up and heard the suspects as they were making their way up the stairs. She called out, thinking it was a family member, and heard the suspects say, “Oh, sh*t” before taking off with various property including a tablet and a laptop. Equipped with GPS software, the laptop was later located in San Bernardino County and a man arrested for receiving stolen property.
