Nickia Cleaves was recognized by the city of Claremont Tuesday night for her years of service to the Claremont Community Foundation (CCF). Ms. Cleaves retired as executive director of the foundation in December, following 19 years of continued service with the organization.

“She has worked diligently for CCF since 1996,” said Mayor Joe Lyons during the presentation. “She began as an administrative assistant, then office manager and, for the last nine years, has served as the foundation’s executive director. Nickia has been dedicated to the foundation’s mission of promoting charitable giving to improve the quality of life in the community, now and in the future.”

Following Mr. Lyons speech, Ms. Cleaves was called before city council and was presented a certificate of recognition.  

 “I’d like to thank the city for all the support they’ve given the foundation over the years as well as the council members who, individually and as a council, have helped us do the work that we do in the community,” said Ms. Cleaves after receiving her award. “It’s been a challenge and a privilege to serve.”

The Claremont Community Foundation was established in 1989 to enrich the lives of citizens of Claremont and its surrounding communities. Through donor-advised funds, endowments and legacy gifts, CCF manages charitable funds from donors who wish to ensure that their philanthropic goals are achieved.
