Three residential burglaries north of Base Line Road
Three residential burglaries occurred in Claremont on Monday, December 15 between 9:45 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The suspect(s) entered the home on the 2700 block of Westfield Place, located north of Base Line Road and west of Mills Avenue, by smashing the glass window on a rear door.
A second burglary occurred in the 500 block of Martin Way, located north of Base Line and east of Mills. The suspect(s) again smashed a rear sliding glass door to enter the home.
The third burglary occurred in the 1000 block of Fuller Drive, located just south of Mt. Baldy Road and east of Padua Avenue. The suspect(s) entered this home by smashing the rear glass doors. During the time frame of this burglary, a witness saw a white car not belonging to the homeowner parked in the driveway of the home. The witness did not see the suspect(s).
Although the residents were not home during these burglaries, as a reminder, it is common for suspects to commit burglaries by knocking on the front door to see if anyone is home. When no one answers the door, the suspects will walk to the sides or rear of the home to look for unlocked doors or windows. In many cases, the suspects will break in by prying, kicking or smashing open a door or window. ??If an unknown person knocks on your door, do not feel obligated to open it. Instead, talk to the person through the door and find out what they want. Frequently, the suspects will make an excuse for knocking on the door, such as asking for an individual who does not live at the location. In those situations, do not hesitate and immediately call 9-1-1.
If you have any information about these burglaries, contact the Claremont Police Department at (909) 399-5411.
