Jennifer Job Kelling has been honored with the Dr. Mary E. Walker Award, given “to military spouses for demonstrating dedicated and exemplary volunteerism as an outstanding military spouse improving the quality of life for soldiers and their family.”

Ms. Kelling, who is the wife of Lieutenant Colonel Rich Kelling, 3-7 Field Artillery Battalion Commander, grew up in Claremont, where her parents, Dutch and Laura Job, still live. As the wife of an Army commander, she is expected to serve as a mentor and a liaison for military spouses and their families. The award recognizes the ways Ms. Kelling has gone above and beyond in fulfilling this responsibility.

Among many accomplishments, Ms. Kelling has been remarkably active as president of the Hui’O Na Wahini All-Ranks Spouses Club. In this capacity, she has helped raise thousands of dollars for scholarships, for local schools and Boy Scout troops and for the Red Cross. Hui’O Na Wahini has also helped fund the Tripler Army Medical Center Fisher House as well as a memorial for the fallen soldiers of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.
