Thursday, May 10 

Troubles began for a 17-year-old Claremont High School student after throwing a rock through an open classroom window in the 400 quad on campus around 11:30 a.m. After throwing the rock the student attempted to flee the campus, but was stopped by a school proctor and brought to the office. The student was found to be under the influence and in possession of alcohol. He was issued a citation for being a minor in possession of alcohol as well as for drunk and disorderly conduct. No one was harmed by the rock throwing.

 

Friday, May 11 

Lurking landed a 36-year-old wanted man in jail Friday afternoon. Witnesses contacted police after seeing the man peering into the backyards of residences in the 400 block of North Mills Avenue. Cristian Estrada, of Ontario, was located on Bluefield Drive and Grand Avenue, and found in possession of an iPad stolen out of a residential burglary in Rancho Cucamonga. Mr. Estrada was also identified as the person involved in a residential burglary on Limestone Road on April 20th. He was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.

 

Saturday, May 12 

Homeowners in the 400 block of Julliard Drive awoke around 7:50 a.m. to find their front yard planted in signs and other stolen memorabilia. Items included a variety of signs from local realtors, an American flag, an artificial purple-and-green wreath, a metal post with yard flag and a “Claremonters United” sign. A majority of the items have been returned to their rightful owners. Police are still searching for the owners of the wreath and metal post.

 

Tuesday, May 15

Anthony Gomez, 34, was arrested for his 54th time in the city of Claremont late Tuesday morning after allegedly shoving a man near Claremont City Hall, 207 Harvard Ave. Police initially contacted Mr. Gomez to ask him an unrelated question. While being questioned, a man approached police and notified them that Mr. Gomez had shoved him, and he had attempted a citizen’s arrest against Mr. Gomez. The officers found Mr. Gomez to be heavily under the influence of alcohol and arrested him. He was also arrested for 2 outstanding warrants out of Orange County for being drunk in public as well as resisting and obstructing an officer. He was transported to an Orange County jail.
