Thief causes water geyser while trying to remove copper piping

On Friday, August 5 a damaged water pipe caused a geyser during a grand theft on the 700 block of South Indian Hill Boulevard. Sometime between Friday, August 5, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, August 6, at 10 a.m., a 3-foot section of copper pipe was removed from outside a local business on Indian Hill Boulevard. While removing the pipe, a nearby water pipe was damaged, sending a 15-foot geyser shooting into the air, said Lieutenant Vander Veen. The pipe is valued at $300. Police have no suspects at this time.
