• At noon, Andy Winnick, professor emeritus of economics and statistics at Cal State L.A., will discuss “How the Republican ‘steal the election’ efforts are embedded in the U.S. Constitution” during the Democratic Club of Claremont’s April luncheon. • The annual spring dance concert hosted by Scripps College’s Dance Department returns today. • The Pomona Valley Genealogical Society will hold its monthly Zoom meeting beginning at 2 p.m. Meetings are open to anyone interested in exploring their family history. David Flint will be speaking on English research part II and will focus on location finding tools to those of English descent to find the places where their ancestors lived. • Over the weekend, Hot Yoga Claremont, 859 W. Foothill Blvd., will hold a fundraiser for the Volkovs, a Ukrainian refugee family mentioned in a recent edition of the COURIER. Hot Yoga Claremont will also host a silent auction and raffle throughout today. On Sunday beginning at 2 p.m., the public is invited to enjoy a paint and sip event and create Ukrainian folk art — tickets to the paint and sip are $30. • The public is invited to attend the inaugural Claremont CERT car show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Claremont Toyota. The event is free of charge. Shotgun Tom Kelley, currently on Sirius XM, will be the celebrity deejay at the car show. There will also be several Hollywood movie cars on display, as well as the CERT truck and trailer. • The public is invited to join the Claremont Presbyterian Church’s Sanctuary Choir for a unique premiere music presentation, “Pandemic Requiem,” at 7 p.m. The Requiem is a “homegrown” work written by music director and organist Geri DeMasi and consists of 10 movements including solos and organ accompaniment. • Following Claremont Unified School District’s spring break, the Youth and TRACKS activity centers will reopen for normal business hours today. • Seniors are invited to play mahjong at the Joslyn Center, 660 N. Mountain Ave., every Monday from 9 a.m. to noon. For friendly competition, new friends and challenges. • Claremont’s Padua Hills Theatre Community Use Program helps reserve dates each year for local non-profit organizations interested in hosting community events at the popular destination. Applications for 2023 theatre use must be submitted to the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 Danbury Rd., no later than 5 p.m. today for event consideration. • Friday Noon Concerts are back at Balch Auditorium, 1030 Columbia Ave., on the campus of Scripps College. The concerts are free, open to the public and begin at noon. • The 2022 Spring Celebration will be held today at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd., between 9 and 11 a.m. Plenty of fun will be had  and will include a live petting zoo, face painting, a magic show, interactive booths, photo opportunities with Mr. and Mrs. Bunny and more. The Kiwanis Club of Claremont will also host a pancake breakfast for $5 per person beginning at 8 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., the free egg hunt for children ages three to 12 will begin.
