The Tour de Foothills Family Ride 2022 has become a huge event for cyclists of all ages and experience levels, and this year’s, on Saturday, November 12, was no exception. By the time the day was done, more than 1,200 bikers spent the day with friends and family traversing several scenic routes.

The event is run by volunteers to raise money for local charities, school sport teams, and other organizations.

Students from the CHS and El Roble Interact clubs volunteered their time to staff a rest stop for the Tour de Foothills bike ride.

There were a variety of courses, including a century (100+ miles), a metric century (62+ miles), a half metric century (31 miles), and a family ride, which is about seven miles on the Pacific Electric Trail.

The Rotary Club of Claremont sponsored one of the rest stops this year, distributing food and drink donated by the Upland Chamber of Commerce to riders. Volunteers also included students of the Claremont High and El Roble Intermediate schools’ Interact Clubs.
