Pomona College professors’ editing work lauded by Choice
On Thursday, December 1, an academic text edited by two Pomona College professors was named as an outstanding academic title by Choice, a review journal for academic titles.
The book, “Keywords for Gender and Sexuality Studies,” edited by The Keywords Feminist Editorial Collective, includes essays on important keywords that play a role in understanding feminist and queer studies. Kyla Wazana Tompkins, professor of English and gender and women’s studies, was managing editor of The Keywords Feminist Editorial Collective while Aimee Bahng, associate professor of gender and women’s studies, was a member of the editorial collective.
“We are following in the steps of other keywords volumes in focusing on terms that reflect the current state of conversation in the field of gender and sexuality studies,” Tompkins said in a recent interview with Pomona College.
Choice is a publication of the American Library Association through its Association of College and Research Libraries. The outstanding academic title designation is based on overall excellence, originality, value to undergraduate students, and relative importance in the field.
