After a pandemic induced hiatus, the California Botanic Garden will once again celebrate birds and their connections to native ecosystems with a family bird festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, February 19.

The Pomona Valley Audubon Society and CalBG are partnering to fill the garden with educational activities, crafts, and informational booths to teach visitors about birding, including those frequently seen in Southern California, habitats, anatomy, adaptation, and more.

Booths will include guests from Wild Wings of California, International Bird Rescue, and Friends of California Condors Wild and Free. Participants can also contribute to CalBG’s great backyard bird count.

The festival is included with California Botanic Garden admission for Sunday, February 19. General admission is free for all garden members, $10 for adult non-members, $6 for seniors 65 and over and student non-members, and $4 for child non-members ages three to 12. Children under the age of 3 are free. Tickets are available at tinyurl.com/37637zj6.

Regular garden hours on February 19 are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Grow Native Nursery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
