The Claremont Colleges Women’s Rugby team were recently crowned the 2023 College Rugby Association of America Division II spring 15s national champions, the program’s second title in as many years, after defeating Howard University, 47-5, at the Aveva Rugby Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The May 7 win capped a perfect season for the Foxes, who captured the Pacific Desert Rugby Conference D-II title and the CRAA D-II national title, and compiled a 6-0 league record before winning three postseason games to go 9-0 overall.

The team’s postseason run included a narrow 39-38 April 25 win over Sacramento State in the CRAA D-II West Region national semifinal, which earned it a spot in the national title game.
