Pomona Concert Band kicks off 76th season

Pomona Concert Band will perform its 76th annual summer concert series at G. Stanton Selby Bandshell in Ganesha Park, 1575 N. White Ave., on select Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. All performances are free, open to the public and sponsored by the City of Pomona.

The opening concert, “Fanfare and Flourishes,” is set for July 13 and will feature music written for ceremonies, movies and theater. The second, “PCB Member Choices,” selections by band members, will follow July 20. “Songs of Influence,” music written for special events, is July 27, “PCB’s Got Talent” concert will run August 3, and “Choose Joy” is August 10. The band will present “Bandology,” music for the wind band, August 17, then “A Salute to Disney” August 24, before wrapping the series August 31 with “Americans We.”

A bonus concert featuring the Golden State British Brass Band will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday, August 27.
