Monday, September 25
At 9:36 a.m. someone called the Claremont Police Department to report people sleeping in the bushes in the 200 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard. The arriving officer questioned 38-year-old Can Phao of Pomona and a records check revealed he had a felony grand theft warrant in San Bernardino County. Phao was arrested for the warrant and held at the Claremont jail until he could be transferred to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he was held for court.

On Wednesday, September 6, an unidentified person purchased a $42,000 vehicle from Claremont Toyota, 601 Auto Center Dr., using a fake social security number and identification. The crime was reported to police on Monday, September 25, who have no suspects.

Tuesday, September 26
Officers responded to the 500 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard at 1:20 p.m. after a resident reported seeing a woman stealing mail. The resident told police he confronted the woman, Nora Fernandez, 52, of Claremont, and retrieved his mail. Police said the alleged theft was also captured on surveillance video at the home. An officer located Fernandez a short distance away and arrested her for misdemeanor mail theft. She was taken to the CPD jail where she was booked and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

Wednesday, September 27
An officer on patrol at 9:19 a.m. pulled a driver over on Bonita Avenue for an alleged moving violation. When the officer questioned the driver, Pasadena resident David Manukyan, 33, he reportedly identified himself using a U.S. passport. A records check showed that Manukyan had a suspended license for a previous DUI and had more than one misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested for driving on a suspended license and the warrants, booked, and later released with a citation to appear in court.

Thursday, September 28
At 12:24 a.m. an officer stopped Adderly Torres, 31, of Montclair for an alleged equipment violation on Baughman Avenue near Indian Hill Boulevard. A records check revealed Torres had a suspended driver’s license and an outstanding arrest warrant. Torres was arrested for misdemeanor driving on a suspended license and the warrant, taken to CPD jail, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.

Saturday, September 30
A CPD officer pulled over Whittier resident Angelo Flores Webster, 33, for an alleged moving violation at 2:22 a.m. on Foothill Boulevard. The officer reported smelling alcohol while questioning Flores Webster, and say he displayed symptoms of intoxication. They then conducted a DUI investigation. After Flores Webster requested some personal property from his car, police said they found a handgun in the passenger area. He was arrested for misdemeanor carrying a loaded firearm in public and taken to the Claremont jail, where he was booked and later released with a citation.
