Police Blotter: November 10, 2023

Wednesday, October 25
The Claremont Police Department received a call at 11:35 a.m. from a resident of an apartment complex in the 900 block of W. Arrow Highway that a woman had broken the laundry room window. Arriving officers located Kentyah Tyler, 33, of Claremont still inside the laundry room. A records check revealed she had an active restraining order for one of the apartments at the complex, so she was arrested on the misdemeanor charge of violating that order. She was taken to the Claremont jail where she was booked and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

Monday, October 30
Officers responded to College Park, 126 S. College Ave., at 5:49 p.m. regarding people drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. They questioned two people who matched the description provided and both identified themselves. A records check revealed 32-year-old Los Angeles resident Antwain Williams had an outstanding arrest warrant from the LA County Probation Department. He was arrested for the felony probation violation, booked, and later transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles, where he was held for court.

Wednesday, November 1
Police were called to Claremont Toyota, 601 Auto Center Dr., at 12:51 p.m. after a black 2015 Acura RDX went missing. According to police an employee was detailing the car and noticed a man was watching. A short time later when the employee left the area the alleged thief retrieved a key stored nearby and drove off in the Acura. The suspect is described as a white man with blonde hair. Anyone with information is urged to call Claremont Police at (909) 399-5411.

Thursday, November 2
Officers traveled to Sprouts Farmers Market, 847 W. Foothill Blvd., Upland, in the early evening after receiving a call about two women detained at the location who were suspected of committing a theft a short time earlier at the Sprouts in Claremont. A witness positively identified the pair as the same people who allegedly stole $2,000 worth of vitamins in Claremont, and they were subsequently arrested. Buena Park residents Dana Fota, 33, and Mita Sardura, 20, were charged with grand theft, burglary and conspiracy, all felonies. Fota also had an outstanding felony warrant. The women were transported to the CPD jail where they were booked and released with a citation to appear in court.

CPD were called to the 400 block of W. Arrow Highway at 8 p.m. about men fighting. When officers arrived, they located two men who had blood on their hands and faces. Police said Juan Cervantes, 25, of Claremont broke a glass beer bottle and used it to cut the face of the other man. Cervantes was arrested for felony assault with a deadly weapon and transported to jail where he was booked and later released on bail.

Friday, November 3
Officers responded at 9:28 a.m. to an LAPD station in Van Nuys about a female in their custody who appeared to have a residential burglary warrant in Claremont. A records check showed that 45-year-old Hollywood resident Hojana Vasques had previously been arrested by Claremont police for residential burglary. She was then transported to Claremont where she was booked. Further investigation revealed the warrant was not from Claremont but belonged to another agency. Vasques was then released pending further investigation.

An officer on patrol at 10:49 p.m. conducted a traffic stop on a man riding a bicycle near the intersection of Bonita and Mountain avenues. The man allegedly gave officers a false name and during a search was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on the misdemeanor charge and taken to the CPD jail where he was booked. After he was fingerprinted police learned his true identity, Pomona resident Pedro Rivera, 36, and discovered he had a parole violation in San Bernardino County. He was booked on the additional charge and later transported to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga where he was held for court.
