The Claremont Interfaith Council will hold its 32nd annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thanksgiving eve, November 22, at the Claremont Center for Spiritual Living, 509 S. College Ave.

“The Council invites all residents of the Claremont and surrounding communities to join in sharing gratitude for the bounties we experience living in a nation founded on core principals of freedom and liberty that are supported by a spiritual foundation,” read a news release.

The service will feature clergy and lay leaders from a broad spectrum of religious and spiritual engagement in the Claremont area, including representatives of our indigenous community. There will also be a variety of music in the program, including contemporary selections and communal singing.

“This is a painfully challenging time in our world,” said Paul Buch, cantor at Temple Beth Israel, in the news release. “So, it’s important to focus on gratitude and the shared values that will hopefully reduce the chaos and the rising tide of hatred we are seeing. It’s also important that we acknowledge our country’s role as a ‘beacon to the nations.’”

As has become the custom, an offering will be received at the gathering with the full proceeds going to Inland Valley Hope Partners in support of their food programs.
