More than 100 children adopted at Ontario event

In observance of National Adoption Month, San Bernardino County held its 23rd annual adoption finalization event on November 15 at the Ontario Convention Center, where more than 100 court dependent children were adopted.

San Bernardino County’s Fifth District Supervisor Joe Baca, Jr., and other speakers shared congratulations and spoke on the importance of caring for children in the foster care system. Claremont is home to foster care agency Trinity Youth Services, which serves approximately 200 children at any given time. Trinity facilitated the adoption of 9-month-old Daisy at last Wednesday’s event. Her new parents, Annette Burroughs and Gabe Herrera, said they were “So blessed” at the conclusion of the event which officially made them a legal family with rights and privileges bestowed to their new daughter, according to a press release.
