Boys and girls cross-country
Results from the November 3 Palomares League Finals at Ruben Ayala High School: with just 18 points, the Wolfpack’s varsity girls team took first while the varsity boys snagged third with 65.
Results from the November 10 CIF-Southern Section Division 2 preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College: The varsity girls took first overall in their qualifying heat with 27 points. The varsity boys placed second in their qualifying heat with a combined score of 90.
Results from the Division 2 CIF-Southern Section meet at Mt. SAC: The varsity girls finished second overall with a score of 94 and will head to Woodward Park in Fresno for the CIF State meet on Saturday, November 25. The varsity boys were 12th with 268.

Girls tennis (12-3)
Results from the California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section individual and doubles tournaments at Marina High School Monday and Tuesday will be reported in the next sports roundup.
Girls golf (8-1)
Results from the November 2 CIF-Southern Section individual finals at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon: junior Kristina Xu shot a five over par 77 to advance to the SoCal Individual Girl’s Golf Finals. Junior Riley Wang missed the cut by two strokes, with an 81. The state qualifier was held November 9 at Los Serranos Country Club, but Kristina was unable to compete due to illness.
Boys soccer (0-0)
The boys began the season after press time Wednesday with a trip to Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga, and return to action at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 at Chaffey High. The Pack hosts Don Lugo at 5:30 p.m. Friday, December 1.
Girls soccer (0-0)
The girls hosted two scrimmages, with Diamond Ranch on November 13 and with Chaffey on November 16, ahead of its first game at 4:45 p.m. Monday, December 4 against La Quinta in the Riverside Poly High School tournament.
Boys basketball (0-1)
Claremont lost at Yucaipa, 53-35, on November 15 to begin the season.
The boys next head to Northview for a tournament, with their first test against South Hills at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, followed by Chaffey at 8 p.m. the following day.
Girls basketball (1-0)
The team opened the season Tuesday against South Torrance at a tournament at Downey High, winning 44-29. Results from Wednesday’s game will appear in the next sports roundup.
Looking ahead, the team will host Corona Del Mar at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 before a 6 p.m. home game with Walnut on Thursday, November 30.
Girls water polo (0-0)
The Pack began the season with a scrimmage at Troy High School in Fullerton on November 13.
The team is back in the water at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, hosting Chino, then will host Los Altos at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, December 7.
Boys and girls wrestling
The boys team will begin the season at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2 at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga. The girls schedule has yet to be released.
The Webb Schools
Football (7-2)
Webb, the Manzanita League runner-up at 4-1, fell 30-27 Friday, November 3 at Lynwood, the Mid-Cities League at-large bid, in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division 14 playoffs. Bell Gardens hosts Lynwood at 7 p.m. Friday for the CIF-SS D14 title.
Boys and girls cross-country
Results from the November 11 CIF-Southern Section Division 5 preliminaries at Mt. San Antonio College: In the third heat the San Joaquin League runner-up varsity boys placed sixth overall with 165 points. The girls, who finished fourth in the San Joaquin League, took 10th in the first heat with 232; sophomore Nicole Samson took first with a time of 18:55.2 and competed in the CIF-Southern Section Division 5 finals.
Results from the November 18 CIF-Southern Section Division 5 finals at Mt. San Antonio College: Webb sophomore Nicole Samson placed third overall at 18:04.4. Full results are at athletic.net.

Girls tennis (11-6)
Results from Monday’s California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section individual and doubles tournaments at Marina High School were unavailable at press time and will be included in the next sports roundup.
Boys soccer (1-1-0)
The team began the season with a 2-0 home loss to Edgewood, but the boys quickly bounced back November 16 with a 2-0 victory of their own at Palmdale Academy.
After the Thanksgiving break Webb travels to John Muir for a 3:45 p.m. game Thursday, November 30, then returns home to face Rowland at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2. Pomona High School travels to Faculty Field at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 5.
Girls soccer (0-0-1)
The Gauls began the season November 16 with a 1-1 tie at home to Cerritos High School.
The team return from break next week to host Pomona Tuesday, November 28 and Covina on Friday, December 1. Both home games are set for 3:15 p.m.
Boys basketball (0-2)
The Gauls fell 63-41 to visiting El Rancho on November 14, followed by another home loss to United Christian Academy, 77-54, on November 16.
Webb is at Education First Academy at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, then hosts Sherman Indian at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 30 to begin a tournament.
Girls basketball (0-2)
The team began the season November 14 with a 51-22 loss at Pasadena Polytechnic School. Sierra Vista High School came by November 16, resulting in another loss, 57-32.
The Gauls are at Calvary Chapel Downey for a tournament following the Thanksgiving holiday. Artesia is the first test for the Gauls at 4:30 p.m. Monday, November 27. St. Joseph follows at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, before a final run with Bethel Baptist at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 30.
Girls water polo (1-1)
The Gauls opened the season November 14 with a close 20-19 home victory over Santa Ana Valley. Visiting Mayfield then beat Webb, 8-7, on November 16.
Don Lugo drops by Tuesday, November 28. Lakeside does the same on Thursday, November 30. Gahr High School then visits Tuesday, December 5. All three games are at 3:30 p.m.
The Gauls open the season hosting a dual meet with Covina and Calvary Chapel Downey at 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 28. The Coassareck Tournament then begins Friday, December 1, at Westminster High.
