The free and open to the public Pomona Holiday Parade is set for 5 p.m., Saturday, December 9, rain or shine. Following the parade, the free annual Holiday at the Plaza event will begin at Shaun Diamond Plaza, 171 W. Second St., and run until 9 p.m.

The grand marshal is Garey High School alumnus and Major League Baseball player Vince Velasquez of the Pittsburg Pirates.

The parade starts near Centennial Park at the intersection of Gibbs and Second streets and will proceed west along Second before turning south on Park Avenue, then east on Mission Boulevard, and north on Garey to conclude near Pomona City Hall.
