Obituary: Jamie Dalia

Great-grandmother, longtime Claremonter

Jamie Dalia was born Feb. 24, 1946, the daughter of Robert and Dora Ortiz, in Monterey Park, California.

She grew up in Alhambra with her two brothers and two sisters, and attended Mark Keppel High School, graduating in 1963.

She met the man who would become her husband, Tony Dalia, at Covina Dodge in 1976. The couple were married on June 4, 1977 at Claremont United Methodist Church.

She lived in Claremont from 1977 on, and was active with Claremont Methodist Nursery School and Spanish Trails Girl Scout Council. Her career was in automotive dealership warranty administration. She retired from Claremont Toyota in 2016.

She is survived by her husband, Tony; sons Phil and David Tarin, and daughter, Roberta Patterson. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

“Her friends would always describe her as ‘vibrant,’” her family shared.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Claremont United Methodist Church, 211 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711.
