Porky Show returns to Claremont

The 42nd annual Porky Show, the state’s largest and longest running police and fire badge and patch collectibles show, overseen by the Claremont Police Department, returns to Taylor Hall, 1775 N. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 20, with more than 50 vendors.

Collectables from California public safety units such as badges, patches, toy cars, buckles, photos, historical documents, hats, helmets, handcuffs, antique batons, mini badges, T-shirts, pins and more will be on sale. The show originated in 1982 in Van Nuys, then relocated to the Sierra Madre Recreation Center in 1986 before it found its home in Claremont in 1993.

The Porky Show is primarily a fundraiser for the Claremont Police Explorers program as proceeds fund the group’s educational training opportunities. General admission is $5 and children under 16 are free.
